A History in Travel

Birgitta Andersson is the director and owner of DaGama Travelweb AB a representation and event company in Sweden, working in all the four Nordic countries.
Born in Sweden, her upbringing was in family-owned, boutique resort businesses. Birgitta started travel in her early years, including to a language school in England and extensive travel in Europe as a teenager. She is the proud mother of Elsa, now all grown up.
Birgitta has worked in the travel industry for 40+ years, with professional contacts and experience in the Nordic countries of Sweden, Denmark, Norway and Finland. She has also worked in the travel businesses in Canada, Fiji, Mexico, Australia and New Zealand.

Here are some highlights:

2008-2023  DaGama Travelweb with its base in Sweden, Canada and Mexico.

2000-2008 Select Travel.  The first Luxury Tour operator in the Nordic with headoffice in Stockholm. In sales and as Product Manager, specializing in the Americas, Africa, Middle East, South Pacific and Cruises. Responsibility for producing the Select Travels brochures; Select Collection, Select Spa, Select Golf and Select Family. Extensive collaboration with the worlds best hotels, lodges and resort  including organizing a huge number of FAM trips and vacation travel.

1998-2000 Benns Rejser, (My Planet today) opening and operating the Stockholm department as Office Manager.Australia /New Zealand Specialists and Usa/Canada specialists

1994-1998 Big Travel/Flex Resor, Malmö,Sweden. Office Manager. FIT –  leasure travel chain in Sweden and Denmark.

1990-1993 Pacesetter Travel (Goway), Vancouver, BC Canada. Australia /New Zealand Specialists.

1986-1990 Anza Travel, Vancouver, BC Canada . Australia /New Zealand Specialists.

Birgitta personally travel to various countries, resorts and hotels many times per year. She also attends worldwide travel industry tradeshows (virtual and in person ) many times per year.  Very importantly, she is known to be aggressive and with high energy, focus in meeting budgets and sales goals. And she also knows the big importance to have fun !

Birgitta is a scuba diver, licensed boat captain, swimmer, cook and gourmand, with the taste for the good in life.
